winter-2011-006abcIt’s especially hard for me to talk about myself. I feel as a writer I owe you a good story, and mine is yet…well at best still being written. Like most of you I am not a writer by profession. It is a passion that I have unfortunately ignored for too long. Sometimes in the grind of everyday life we lose the one thing that will make all the difference; our voice.

I find it amazing that there are only 26 letters in the English alphabet, yet when sewn together into words, they present humanity an unbounded treasure of literature. Words enthrall me with their power. While powerful civilizations have come and dwindled, the muscle of words lives on long after its author. Words cut deeper than a dagger, move a nation to a revolution, gather up an army, or kindle the fire of love in an empty heart.  It is words that make up our deepest beliefs and words that can shake and disillusion.

So this year I decided to go back and embrace what I so enjoy; writing. Thanks to family and friends I decided to start this blog which is all about discovering oneself and staying in touch with one’s soul.

As a novice writer I hope this shall be a great forum for me to write and learn. I look forward to your critiques, likes and comments. So here’s to “pressing on” to writing words that make a difference.

  1. Its so true what you say about the 26 letters in the English alphabet – but we are also blown away at all the other languages that uses the same letters yet create completely different sounds and words and meanings! 🙂
Good for you to embrace your love of writing! Lovely to meet you and look forward to your future posts!!

    1. Thank you for stopping by and thank you also for your thoughtful words. I fully agree with you. Learning a new language is like opening the gates to a whole new world, treasure chest of literature.

  2. A fellow scribe! Congrats on starting the blog to exercise your creative writing muscles. If you’re like me, not only do you like writing but you like reading as well and there’s no better way to improve your blog by reading what others are writing about!

I totally understand what you mean by life getting in the way of our writing but we MUST find the time. I will drop in from time to time and see what I can learn from you. I see you also adorn your posts with beautiful pictures. That’s always a nice thing. Good luck on your blog and NEVER stop writing!

Like you, I am fascinated by the endless variety of expression through words (and images) and it has become a favorite form of creative and soul expression.

    1. Yes I greatly enjoy your blog, “Poetry in Motion”. I must have visited your other blog due to a challenge you participated in. I am sorry I dont remember the name. Can you tell me and I will visit it again. Thanks for stopping b?

      1. You’re welcome and thank you. So glad that you are enjoying my poetry. My other blog is: sporterhall.wordpress.com – a more or less narrative blog; a bit of a contrast to my poetry blog. Hopefully you will enjoy that one too. Thanks again! 🙂

      1. Not kind, it´s the truth which is another thing.

Read soon. About to be 2 a.m in Spain and I´m ready to go and release my pain, meaning lying in bed with a book .

  19. Hello…

Here’s a little New Years message from Türkiye to say “thank you”. I appreciate your recent ‘follow’, knowing how many interesting and entertaining blogs there are out there.

Blogging since June 2013, my little corner of the world tries to offer an eclectic smattering of posts, from basic amateur photography, to sharing my travel adventures over the decades, as well as day to day happenings here on our fruit farm in southern Turkey. I also throw in a few of my observations on life and lighter-hearted stuff for good measure.

You are more than welcome to have a look around, stay a while and have a trawl through my small collection. There are plenty of categories within the drop-down menus to help in said digging process. Of course, if you have any comments, suggestions or concerns, feel free to let me know – I’m not easily offended 🙂

Hope you have a great day and even better 2015…

  20. I will immediately grasp your rss feed as I can’t in finding your email subscription link or newsletter service.
Do you have any? Kindly let me recognise in order that I may subscribe.

  21. My partner and I absolutely love your blog and find almost all
of your post’s to be just what I’m looking for. Does one offer guest writers to write content for you personally?
I wouldn’t mind producing a post or elaborating on many of the subjects you write
related to here. Again, awesome site!

    1. Thank you to you and your partner for stopping by and enjoying my blog. The easiest way to contribute would be to write your content and link or pingback to my blog. You can also put a link to your website in my comments section if you prefer. But if you wish to contribute as a guest writer, I would want to know the topic and material before hand. I am particular about what gets published on Ubecute, I am sure you would understand 🙂

So cute of you to drop me a line
